Powering the future with
Green Power
First National Power is leading the way in promoting pollution-free
electricity by offering Green Power - a clean, 100%
renewable power. The benefit of Green Power is that
it produces none of the air pollution or greenhouse gases
associated with acid rain, smog, and global warming.
Wind Power
Wind power is clean. Renewable. Good for the air. Good for
the Earth.
We have an incredible opportunity to create a cleaner environmental
future for ourselves, our children, and our communities. It
is wind power - and it is up to us!
Today, most electricity is produced by the burning of fossil
fuels which contributes to acid rain and snow, climate change,
urban smog, and regional haze. Wind power, in contrast, produces
no air pollution and it does not deplete our natural resources.
No land must be strip-mined to extract it and it does not
threaten the earth's climate.
The Future
No one can predict the future, but with green power, there
are intriguing possibilities. Researchers believe they can
significantly improve the technologies for making electricity,
heat, and fuels from biomass. They are investigating advanced
gasification systems, fuel cells, and combination technologies
that produce heat and electricity. Advanced technologies should
be able to produce green power more efficiently and at lower
costs than today.

Green Power
Green power is electricity generated
using renewable resources that generally have a lighter environmental
impact than other energy resources. Renewable energy resources
(i.e. the sun, wind, water, heat within the earth, and organic
plant and waste material that naturally rejuvenate) do not
disappear forever when they are used to generate electricity,
because they are easily replenished by nature. The terms most
frequently used for these renewable energy sources are solar,
wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass energy. Bioenergy
Bioenergy provides critical economic, environmental, and security
benefits. The use of renewable biomass creates additional
value in farm, forestry, and other industries, and reduces
waste streams. Bioenergy also reduces the emissions of greenhouse
gases and other pollutants by displacing fossil fuel use.
By creating greater energy diversity, from domestically available
sources, bioenergy can reduce dependence on imported energy.
What's in it for you?
Green Power is more than just
good citizenship: it is a sales, advertising, and public relations
tool that can help you differentiate your products and services.
Switching to Green Power makes
a statement about your organization and your values. Not only will you be activly helping the enviornment, but you will also be knowin for positive leadership.
The golden opportunity
you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment,
it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is
in yourself alone. Orison Sweet Marden |
